Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tech Marvel support our DMS (CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, Tekion, or similar) directly?

Your DMS vendor supports the DMS itself. Tech Marvel supports the surrounding IT environment including your network, Wi-Fi, workstations, phones, printers, email, cybersecurity, backups, and user access; and coordinates with your DMS, CRM, or OEM vendor when an issue crosses over into IT. Someone still needs to own the full picture when problems span multiple systems, and that's the role we fill.

What happens when our DMS vendor blames the network, or the internet provider says the circuit is fine?

That back-and-forth is exactly what happens when no one owns the full outcome. We coordinate across your technology vendors, from DMS, internet, phone, copier, and software providers; and follow through until the issue is actually resolved, instead of leaving your team to referee between vendors.

Can Tech Marvel help us answer FTC Safeguards Rule questions from our insurer or auditor?

Yes, in a practical sense. We help identify what technology protections are already in place, where the gaps are, and how to strengthen controls around user access, backups, security tools, vendor access, and documentation. We're not a law firm and don't provide legal compliance guarantees, but we can help you walk into that conversation with clear answers instead of guesses.

Would our backups actually work if we needed them, or just run without anyone checking?

That's the right question to ask, and it's one a lot of dealership leaders can't answer confidently. We help prepare your dealership to recover from ransomware, outages, hardware failures, accidental deletion, and cloud data loss.  The goal is a backup you've actually verified, not one you're hoping works.

Do you work with dealerships that have more than one location?

Yes! Whether you're a single rooftop or manage technology across multiple locations, we coordinate the same way: one team keeping track of your systems and vendors instead of each location handling IT on its own.

What happens to a former employee's access to our DMS, CRM, or email after they leave?

That's a common gap we help close. Employee offboarding should mean access is removed everywhere at once.  Email, DMS, CRM, OEM portals, lender systems all need to be part of offboarding,  not just the accounts someone remembers to check.
