IT Support for Auto Dealerships in New Jersey

One Local IT Partner Who Owns the Outcome

Your dealership runs on a DMS, a CRM, phones, internet, Wi-Fi, service systems, email, backups, and a handful of outside vendors. When something breaks, everyone owns one piece, but nobody owns the outcome. And somehow the questions end up on your desk.

Tech Marvel gives New Jersey auto dealerships responsive, local IT support from one partner who coordinates the moving parts, explains things in plain English, and stays with the problem until it’s resolved.

Sound familiar?

Who Actually Owns IT at Your Dealership?

Whether you run one store or a group of rooftops, IT is rarely one thing. It's the DMS company, the internet provider, the phone vendor, an IT person or company, and a dozen logins in between. Each piece gets handled. The whole picture often doesn't.

That isn't anyone failing. It's what happens when nobody's job is to own all of it.

The same problems keep coming back

It got fixed on Tuesday. It’s back on Friday. Nobody has figured out why.

Nobody’s sure who still has access

When a salesperson or F&I manager leaves, are they removed from email, the DMS, the CRM, lender portals, and OEM portals? Or just the ones somebody remembered?

Backups nobody has tested

The backup says it’s running. Has anyone actually shown you a successful restore?

You still answer for it

Your IT person may handle the tickets. But the insurance questionnaire and the Safeguards questions still come back to you.

When Every Vendor Owns One Piece, Who Owns the Problem?

The DMS is crawling. Someone calls the DMS provider, and they say it looks like the network. The internet company checks the circuit and says it’s fine. The phone vendor says their equipment is working. Meanwhile a deal is sitting in F&I, the service drive is backing up, and your controller is on hold playing referee.

Here’s the thing. You shouldn’t have to figure out which vendor to call before someone helps you.

I’ve seen this happen. Someone at a client thought the internet was slow and called the provider directly. The provider swapped out their equipment, and that knocked out the network setup behind it. I had to go in and put it back together. Nobody did anything wrong. They just didn’t know how the pieces connected.

Ron Conti, owner, Tech Marvel

Each vendor owns its piece.

Nobody owns getting the dealership back to work.

That’s the gap Tech Marvel is built to fill.

We understand how frustrating it is when technology problems interrupt the workday, vendors point fingers, and leadership still has to chase down clear answers.

We believe technology should help your dealership sell, finance, service, and deliver vehicles — not create more work for the people leading the business.

Including F&I and the Service Drive

A printer jam or lender-portal login problem in F&I can hold up a deal while the customer waits. On the service drive, advisors need Wi-Fi, tablets, and printers working to write repair orders. We handle the computers, network, and logins around RouteOne, Dealertrack, and your service platforms.

Auto Dealership IT Support FAQs

Do you support our DMS (CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, Tekion, or similar) directly?

Your DMS vendor supports the DMS itself, and Tech Marvel supports the IT environment around it. That's your network, Wi-Fi, workstations, phones, printers, email, cybersecurity, backups, and user access. When an issue crosses over between the two, we coordinate with your DMS, CRM, or OEM vendor so someone owns the whole picture.

What happens when F&I can't get into RouteOne or Dealertrack in the middle of a deal?

Tech Marvel handles the IT side of the problem and works with the lender platform when it is not clear whose problem it is. A login, MFA prompt, workstation, printer, or connection issue is ours. If it's the platform, we sort it out with them.

What happens when our DMS vendor blames the network, or the internet provider says the circuit is fine?

Tech Marvel coordinates across the vendors involved and stays with the issue until it is resolved. You shouldn't have to be the referee.

Can you help us answer FTC Safeguards Rule questions from our insurer or auditor?

Yes, on the technology side. We help identify what protections are already in place, where the gaps are, and how to strengthen controls around user access, backups, security tools, vendor access, and documentation. The FTC's guidance for auto dealers spells out the requirements, and your attorney can confirm how they apply to you. We're not a law firm and don't guarantee compliance, but we can help you walk into that conversation with clear answers instead of guesses.

Would our backups actually work if we needed them?

The only way to know is to test a restore. A “backup completed” message tells you a copy was made. It doesn't tell you how long recovery would take or whether the files you need are in it. We set up restore testing so you've seen recovery work before you need it.

What happens to a former employee's access to our DMS, CRM, or email after they leave?

Access should be removed from every system at once, not just the ones someone remembers. Email, the DMS, the CRM, OEM portals, and lender systems all belong on the offboarding checklist. We help build that checklist and make sure it gets followed.

Do you work with dealerships that have more than one location?

Yes. Whether you have one rooftop or several, the goal is the same: one team keeping track of your systems and vendors, with the same standards at every location.

We already have IT help. Why would we talk to you?

The review is useful whether you have an IT company, an IT person, or a full department. You don't have to replace anyone. Many dealerships keep the people who know their systems and add outside help for monitoring, security, backups, documentation, and coverage when their team is out. In 20 minutes you'll get a clearer picture of what's working, what needs attention, and where ownership is unclear. If your current setup is in good shape, we'll tell you that.

Ready to stop being the person everyone calls when technology breaks?

Stop chasing recurring IT problems, vendor finger-pointing, and unanswered security or backup questions that should already be handled. Lead a smoother, safer dealership where sales, service, finance, accounting, and management can work with clear answers and dependable local IT support.
